Bringing Digital Art to Life for Doodles Fans

How do you create a largely analog, immersive world for an NFT brand that exists purely digitally? When CAMP came to Bridgewater looking for a fabrication and production partner to bring the world of Doodles to life in Chicago, the objective was to do just that. Our team was tasked with turning the whimsical aesthetic into a family-friendly destination that delighted existing fans and boosted Doodles’ brand awareness.

The Challenge

The primary challenge was to create a true-to-brand immersive experience for a digital-only product in a 3D realm that was also durable, easily transportable to other locations, and capable of being delivered within a tight timeline.

Strategy

We began with a thorough site evaluation, considering existing infrastructure, ceiling heights, egresses, and power sources within a raw commercial space. Then we researched material and fabrication options to meet the tight timeline while staying within budget. The durability and longevity of finish quality were key factors because everything would be touched, climbed on, and interacted with in the finished environment.

Design

With design concepts provided by the client, our task was to make it all fit seamlessly within the new, raw space and match the NFT brand’s colors, textures, and design ethos. Materials and methods were chosen to foster an authentic experience while simultaneously creating a safe and engaging environment.

Production

Our team leveraged 3D printing, CNC sculpting, good old-fashioned carpentry, and a variety of paints and specialty finishes to create the Doodles universe. We then shipped and installed the entire experience on-site, ensuring each component was seamlessly integrated and Camp Store guests would have a truly unforgettable experience.
