Bobby Redd tasked Bridgewater Studio with building a unique interactive retail environment for a new The Black Tux store in Chicago. The client needed lavish high-end custom store fixtures with either a blackened steel finish, or a tung oil or a stained maple finish, which we applied to luxury clothing racks, a DJ Credenza, a floor-to-ceiling length mirror, a point-of-sale cube, graphic designs, and a Chicago-themed mini-golf hole.
This unique luxury environmental interior retail design called for a blend of metal fabrication & millwork to create custom store fixtures with waterfall steel edges over finished maple, custom mirror framing, structural steel bending and mitering, and maple carving, bending and veneer work. Small features, such as custom-milled endcaps for the steel, and CNC carvings for the thicker maple, work in unison to fully actualize Black Tux’s brand vision of an elegant and consumer-oriented experiential shopping process.
